Ash’s riding and coaching speaks for itself. He has been producing the next set of pro riders ever since he set foot in the Whistler Bike Park. Ash’s clinical approach to riding and his analytical approach to coaching allows him to get the very best from all the athletes he has. If you want to know the best lines Whistler Bike Park has to offer follow Ash.
Qualified to the very highest level in both the Winter and the Summer Ash’s depth of knowledge regarding bike skills and mechanics is invaluable and his passion to pass this on to the next generation of riders makes him one of the most sought after coaches within Whistler.

STEVE SHORE
Development Coach, Co Founder
Steve has been involved in sport for his whole life which led him to a degree in Sports and Exercise Science from Loughborough in the UK. After relocating to Whistler his interest has grown in the performance side of the sports Whistler has to offer. Qualified as course conductor with the Canadian Ski Instructors Association, Steve has a great understanding of teaching and learning and looks to apply this to Instinct Developments programs.
Over the last few years Steve has been working as a key part of Whistler Blackcomb’s Athlete Development Programs with an emphasis on program design and staff training.
ANDREW BROOKS
Development Coach
Hailing from the sun soaked coast of Western Austrailia, Brooksies Background on the bike is vast.
Starting with BMX he dabbled in anything requiring pedal power while gradually finding his way into Mountain Biking and Coaching.

His Passion is two wheels and sharing his knowledge and experience on the trails.
He inspires those who he teaches to sharpen their skills and reach their goals..
Since moving to BC brooksie has gained a wealth of experience in coaching and racing.
RORY HACKETT
Coach
Rory grew up riding bikes in the UK.
He says " We didn’t have a bike park or extensive trail network but we built our own jumps and trails and learned from our mistakes. After a couple of riding trips to Whistler I realized it was where I wanted to be full-time. I started coaching in the bike park in 2013 and have been a full-time coach ever since.
I love coaching Downhill, Enduro and dirt jump sessions and am passionate about race-specific coaching and long-term athlete development."
MIKE CARON
Development Coach
Since arriving in Whistler in 2011, Mike has become a staple in the mountain biking community. Having ridden bikes his whole life, he brings a lifetime of experience to his coaching. Whether he’s coaching athletes or exploring new lines in the Whistler Bike Park, his dedication and skills shine through. With a thoughtful approach to riding and a passion for coaching, Mike brings out the best in his athletes, helping them reach new heights. He’s had the privilege of coaching in New Zealand, holds the title of Coupe Québec DH Champion, and is a National DH Championship bronze medalist.
Mike’s deep knowledge of bike mechanics and riding techniques, paired with his commitment to sharing this expertise, has made him a highly respected coach in Whistler. Driven to inspire the next generation of mountain bikers from around the world, Mike continues to make a lasting impact on the community.
